Friday morning! Usually a day reserved for yard work but today I'm taking it easy because my doctor had to schedule an appointment at 11:50, right in the middle of the day to screw up anything I had planned to do. I can understand his BMW payment is due on the 20th, but I don't appreciate such inconsideration.
I have been sitting here reading all the Forum Posts, and all the Blog posts as well as reading all the comments. I've also been looking at all the pictures posted from the past two weeks, something I have not had time to do of late. I have come to a profound conclusion!
I really don't believe Jeff Gilder ever dreamed what he was creating with this site. Before RacersReunion my computer experiences consisted of e-mails, watching what racing videos I could find, being in chat rooms talking about racing either on Yahoo or, back in the day, on NASCAR.com. I still don't know how to cut and paste and all that computer stuff, but I know how to find RacersReunion.com and enjoy all it has to offer.
What has really rocked me this morning is having read all the posts and realizing what a wealth of knowledge, talent, experience, and history we have in this place. There is humor, there is nostalgia, there is history, there is future. Most of all, there is racing, past, present and future. There are differences of opinion but most, and I repeat MOST, are handled with humor or at least courtesy.
