Henry Ford said, either about the model A or model T, that you can “get it in any color as long as it’s black”.  Car buyers didn’t have many choices back in the day. But still, people were buying the cars almost as quickly as Ford could manufacture them .   These days, of course, the color choices are much more than black and even black now has many shades for choice.  Take that to the next level and take your car to a custom shop and you can have any color in the spectrum AND, you can come up with colors only your imagination can manufacture.  Remarkable.

I have a friend from my days in the Navy who e-mails me every week or so and he will always sign his e-mails with the quote “The times, they are achanging”.  That they are.  Change is inevitable in every facet of life.  Those of us who hang out here on RacersReunion often lament the way things have changed in our sport.  Think about this for a minute. It was 20 years ago that Richard Petty’s Fan Appreciation Tour was underway.  20 years!  When I stop to think about that, it is almost inconceivable that it has been that long.  I was actually in my 40s then.  I have a son older than that now and a grandson quickly approaching that age. Can anyone here believe that it was 11 years ago we lost Dale Earnhardt?  Oh, I know they say time moves more quickly the older you get but I never thought it would move this quickly while I’m still so young.
