Four years ago the inaugural Columbia Speedway RacersReunion® created quite a stir when over 30,000 people showed up. Event coordinators were initially expecting 1500 and decided to prepare for a few more during the week leading up to the event. No one expected the result. They came from 17 states to participate in what has now become an annual event.

Each year the event team strives to find content that will appeal to all ages. This, the 4^th annual event, will include a drive-in movie. Friday night April 6^th begins with a cruise-in at the popular Cayce, SC (West Columbia) location (event sponsor) Maurice’s BBQ at 5 PM.  Next stop—Historic Columbia Speedway for some Carolina beach music beginning at 6:30 and as soon as darkness arrives, the legendary racing movie, Thunder in Carolina will be shown on the speedway’s giant 40 foot movie screen. Another event sponsor, Lizard’s Thicket Restaurant, will be serving their (now) traditional fish dinner prior to and during the show.
