Things were going just as planned up to this point when with 15 minutes before the night’s races were to begin, a heavy thunderstorm rolled into the area and soaked the racetrack. Fortunately enough for both the fans and drivers, it was quick to blow over and the tracks drying process began. About 2 hours later the color of the track had changed from a wet black to a dark gray, a sign that racing was good to go.

As the full field of Super Late Models pulled onto the track, fans cheered as their patience was about to be rewarded. The high horse powered cars doubled up with the one to go signal and charged at the green flag the next time around. With a good run through turns 1 and 2 on the first lap, Anderson cleared 2nd place and began a solid rhythm of logging down laps and leading the field. The race ran green flag until a wreck mid field brought out the caution on lap 57. Double file restarts were in place for the night’s events and they provided much entertainment as 5 caution flags flew the rest of the evening. Restart after restart Anderson proved he had the car to beat as the #19 continued to pace the field on each green flag run.

A caution flag for a spin on the backstretch with 10 laps to go would bunch the field back together for a run to the finish. As the green flag flew one last time, Anderson showed he had saved his tires for the end after a grueling 150 laps and jumped to the front of the pack for good taking the checkered flag in a wire to wire performance after leading every lap.

In Victory Lane an excited Anderson was both humble and confident of the night’s events. “It’s absolutely incredible to be standing here. The Lord Jesus Christ definitely blessed us with a great night. Everything that’s happened in the past year has been a culmination of where we are tonight and all the hard work has paid off. There are so many people that have helped me get to where I am and made all this possible. From Forest Acres and all my other supporters coming back on board and showing their belief in me, to Jeff Fultz helping me get this car where it needed to be. This thing was on the money tonight, to have a car that good and then have to earn it with that restart with 10 to go – just makes it so special. To get my first Super Late Model pole, my first Super Late Model win on the same night, makes it absolutely phenomenal.”
