KINGSPORT, Tenn. (Aug. 26, 2012) — A blistering hot Sunday afternoon greeted race fans at Kingsport Speedway for running of the Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series Food Country USA 250 presented by Mahle Motorsport, with Wade Day of Seymour cruising to a very impressive victory at “The Concrete Jungle.”

Racing for Highlands Motorsports of Bristol during the 2007 and ’08 seasons, Day competed in 18 United Speed Alliance Racing Hooters Pro Cup Series events, earning two pole awards and leading 458 laps. Day and team owner Wade Lopez definitely felt they had some unfinished business to take care of in the Model City, knowing circumstances while leading late in events had robbed them of getting to celebrate in victory lane.

Day recorded 14 Late Model Stock wins at Kingsport Speedway in 2000 and captured the track championship, which propelled him to a NASCAR Weekly Racing Series regional title.
