Legend  Adventures, Episode Two

There is another dimension, a dimension of sight and sound, that lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his imagination.  There is a signpost up ahead.  You’ve just crossed over into ………………………………………………………………….. the Darlington Infield!   Yes, I know that is loosely verbatim from the introduction by Rod Serling each week long ago to his “Twilight Zone”.  I loved that show when it was on and never missed it.   But when I was considering subjects for this week’s adventure into the mind of The Legend, those words came to mind when I considered writing about many years of experience in the infield at Darlington.   At least one of these stories has been related by the press and has grown in myth over the years, but I’m here to set the record straight on that one.  I saw it with my own eyes.  All the other stories pertain to events solely concerning me and my race fan family.
