During this time of year Ann and I watch a lot of those Hallmark Christmas movies, which, by the way, they start showing on October 31st. Almost all the movies have this happy ending, wrapping up a two-hour (minus commercials) story that includes many trials and tribulations of the individuals which are all tied up in a beautiful bow for the happy ending in the final two or three minutes of the movie. Some of the movies involve true stories which can really tug at your heart-strings when the young boy dies from childhood cancer just a few weeks from Christmas, but even those movies contain the underlying theme that the magic of Christmas makes even such a loss something for which to be thankful.
