My name is Beverly Mount Douds, I live in Port St. Joe, Florida and I have published three books so far. (1) Lighthouse Keepers (2) Gulf County and (3) Apalachicola. I do mostly pictorial history books and my publisher is Arcadia Publishing Company out of South Carolina. Now I want to do a book on Race Cars and their drivers, like my Uncle who use to drag race a lot when I was a kid. Our family outings were spent watching Uncle Pete Mount and his Purple Passion. As a kid, James Finch would always be hanging around to, and now he owns the Phoenix Racing team.

I want to write a book for all the Old Race Car drivers like the ones I met through Sol Stewart and friends, also I want to include any stock cars and drag racers of today. I will start with the 1950s and work my way to the year 2000. I will need photos with a brief descriptions of each car and driver. If you would like to share your car or a family members vehicle and any information I would love to have it in my next book called Racing across the Florida Panhandle. This can include monster trucks or any others that you have. Dirt and asphalt tracks in the panhandle or Wiregrass areas are wanted.

Please help me make this a book we can ALL be proud of, I know between you all and myself, that we can make this the best book in the panhandle.

If you care to send me your photos, please go to your nearest Wal-Mart, CVS, or Walgreens to make a copy to sent, or if you are good at scanning, send it in a high resolution or as a (tif.) file. Dont forget to send the info. For one small photo, Ill need about 70 words, for a large photo, I can use up to 139 words. Send as many as you can.

Example: In the Gulf County Book, I had 657 photos and only 285 were used. The publisher has the last say-so on which pictures are the best for the book.
