What Billy thought was silly, when wife Barbara began a scrapbook of his racing activities in 1956, turned into nine four-inch thick books, with this being the introductory page of the first.
Dale Earnhardt once brought his PR man with him. The gentleman was looking through some of the books and said he would like to take some of them home to read them. Barbara offered her apologies and explained she had loaned them before and were returned with some pages missing. Dale said, "But you'll let me have them, won't you?" Barbara replied, "I love you with all my heart but you can't borrow those books." Barbara did make Dale a copy of the articles in the books which included articles of him and his dad, Ralph.
