These three people were some of the closest friends of Billy's. Ernie Elkin owned the Southern Auto Racing News for many years. He also promoted many race tracks with Cherokee Speedway bieng one of them. The Elkins were also close friends
Bill Connell was the announcer at most of the tracks Billy competed on. He became a very dear friend. We were told by someone that Alex Beam asked Bill, while planning a "Tribute To Bill Connell", who, along with all the NASCAR drivers already invited, would he like to be there. We were told he chose Billy Scott and Chuck Piazza. That was quite an honor, with all the drivers available.
Toy Bolton, (right) as has been mentioned many times in Billy's racing stats, was still building winning race cars at an age near 70 +. These guys were all winners in Billy's life.
