All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro!

If NASCAR really wants to re-connect with its core fans, the ones that don't recognize the sport anymore, why not host the "All-Star" race at North Wilkesboro? Really. In its present form, how is the "All-Star" race any different than any of the other 30-something "regular" races? The same drivers are in it, sure, they ALL have a different paint scheme, but they practically have a different paint scheme every week, anyway. How many die-cast are they gonna sell, anyway? The only other "difference" is the monkeying around with the laps and the invert and having some "lucky" fan spin the wheel, and blah, blah, blah..........! AND, they not racing for POINTS so they will REALLY be racing.............But, seriously how is the present ALL-STAR race any different than any other race on the schedule? The critics, will quickly point out that N-Wilkes doesn't have "enough" seats. (In 1978, THE ROLLING STONES played in the Myrtle Beach convention center with about 1000 seats, sometimes coziness is a plus) But isn't the NASCAR world all about TELEVISION these days? Not having enough seats (at the track) might be true, but think of all the extra millions of households that might actually tune in. And, as we know, all to well, they can ADD seats in the future. Also, the track has not been raced on since 1996, it's old, it's worn out, it's too round, and it's too brown. But aren't these the absolute best drivers/mechanics/sponsors/owners/technological support (except for F-1) in the wide world of racing? I think they could handle it. It's an ALL-STAR race, isn't it? AERO won't be an issue at N-Wilkes. "Clen Air" won't be an issue at N-Wilkes. "Goodyear brought a crappy tire......" won't be an issue at N-Wilkes! And don't allow the "commentators" to go on the "AIR" 2 hours before the green flag and OVER-COMMENTATE! And please don't start in the day and "race" into the night so we won't have to hear about that for one million times We get it! We understand it!Have an old-timey "Twin 50" with the second race an inversion of the first.! Such a non-convential, rogue move could be just the ticket, to jump start an otherwise dwindling industry. Hey, I know I'm day dreaming, and a race at N-Wilkes has about as much chance as the proverbial snow-ball, but, folks would watch!

Boy, it be great to see a race held at North Wilksboro again! It's a shame to see it going down hill like it is. It is almost like NASCAR has forgotten about it's existence and doesn't care. I'm surprised that no one has considered using it for running ASA, NASCAR Late Models or the like.
