Prayer Needed
Fellow racers-reunion member, Tony Powell, reports that his dad, legendary Carolina short track specialist, "Mutt" Powell's health is declining and the family would appreciate the prayerful support of the racing community. Mutt's carreer began on the dirt ovals of coastal South Carolina, but would ultimately lead to the high banks of Daytona. For the better part of three decades, from coupes late models, Mutt Powell was a dominant force on the Carolina dirt track circuit and enjoyed great success with a host of car owners including fellow Hemingway, SC owner, "preacher" Marion Cox.
I Think I saw Him Go Over The First Turn Gard Rail One Thursday Night In 1964 At Columbia Speed Way The First Race I Ever Went To I Do Rember That Name Our Prays Are With Him And His Family
Our thoughts and prayers will be with Mutt and his family. Thanks for sharing.
JUST A LITTLE UPDATE ON DAD, HE IS HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND SEEMS TO BE DOING A LITTLE BETTER. I SPENT YESTERDAY MORNING WITH HIM AND HE TOLD ALL ABOUT HOW HE WENT FROM DRIVING A CAR FROM THE CHARLESTON AREA TO DRIVING THE 88 CAR THAT MOST PEOPLE REMEMBER HIM FROM. HE CAN REALLY TELL YOU SOME THINGS ABOUT THE OLD DAYS! IM FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THESE STORIES AND I CAN LISTEN AT THEM OVER AND OVER. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND PLEASE CONTINUE TO REMEMBER HIM. HOPEFULLY I CAN GET HIM TO THE RACETRACK AGAIN SOON.
That's great news, Tony! Thanks for the update. We'll continue to keep you all in prayer.
Great news Tony will keep him in our prayers
