In any other scenario, Junior Johnson would never consider racing again. He's got "to much sense......" But what a difference a son makes! So, what if teenage Robert Glen Johnson, III really wants to pursue a racing carreer? And, what if he demonstrates real potential? Now that would be something. On the NASCAR front, "Junior Johnson" has as much star-power as anybody out there. ANYBODY. On the racing front, there's never been more knowledge, experience, talent, savvy, horse-sense, and down-home work ethic bestowed on one individual than on Junior. He's forgot more than these modern engineers will ever know. Junior's been there, shucks, he discovered most of it.....and perfected the rest.
Would he need a modern 'garage-ma-hal' filled with limosine-ridin'-sun-glass-wearin' yuppies? Or just a "little ol' shop out behind the house............"? (as DW recently recalled). I'd wager it'd be a lot closer to the latter than the former. The state motto of North Carolina: "Essi Quam Ve Derri" (latin) "To be Rather Than to Seem" is perfectly exemplified in Junior Johnson. Yup, it's a pipe dream, but never say never. It would sure be fun to watch. The Last American Hero "involved" again.............how cool would that be?
Pretty cool for sure Bobby.
