Hi folks, I hope everyone has been well this week!

With last week's announcement of the five inductees into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame last week, this week we tell the story of one of those very deserving inductees over at Georgia Racing History.com .

Mike Head is a true Georgia racing original. After going racing in the late 60s, Mike Head became a terror on the dirt tracks all over the east coast. He raced all over and in doing so, became one of the all time Georgia racing greats.

This week, Mike Bell tells us the Mike Head story, the story of a racer who is a true throwback to the pioneers of racing and who continues today to race and win. Check out Mike's story at Georgia Racing History.com .

And, if you did somehow miss the news on the 2011 class, you can read up on them here .

We're just a week away now from the fourth annual Lakewood Speedway Reunion , scheduled for Aug. 6 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, Georgia. This year's reunion will be held in honor of Hall of Fame member Jimmy Summerour ! For more information on the reunion, and to buy tickets, go to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame website .

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on July 30 to Ricky Sanders and in memory of Neil Bonnett (1946-1994), and on July 31 to Buck Simmons and in memory of Louise Smith (1916-2006).Thanks everybody, and have a great week!
