This week, we take a look at one of the greatest all time drivers over at Georgia Racing History.com .

During a recent trip, Georgia racing historian Mike Bell and I began discussing out pick for the top racing talent from the Unites States of all time.

And when it came to number one, there was one name we both agreed on: A.J. Foyt .

"SuperTex" won in every kind of car he competed in, and on every type of race track. From the dusty and dangerous dirt tracks of open wheel racing in the mid 50s and 60s to NASCAR to sports cars and his first love, Indy Cars, Foyt proved he was a force to be reckoned with and a driver and competitor second to none.

This week, we take a look back at the career and legend of "SuperTex", A.J. Foyt, over at Georgia Racing History.com .

As I'm sure you've all heard by now, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia was hit hard by Monday's severe weather. But, we've received word that racing will go on as planned this weekend at the legendary dirt track! If you didn't get a chance to see the damage, you can view a couple of photos on the initial breaking news story over at our sister site, Raceweek Illustrated . For an update on the latest from the track, check www.dixiespeedway.com .

A special thanks to Angela Williamson and Susan Morgan and all the GRHOF Volunteers that worked so hard on the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame display at this past weekend's Advocare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway . Several Hall of Famers were on hand for the event, and a good time was had by all. A special thanks goes out to Ed Clark and his staff at AMS for all their giving and hard work to help us honor our Hall of Fame members and to spread the word about the GRHOF!

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on Sept. 11 in memory of Joe Lee Johnson (1929-2005) and on Sept. 12 to 2011 Georgia Racing Hall of Fame inductee Ken Ragan .Thanks everybody, and have a great week!

I have some stuff from A.J.s press releases when he was driving NASCAR that I will try to find and scan. They will give you more insite into Foyt.
