This week, we remember some of the great race tracks in the Peach State over at

Built in the early 80s by Georgia Racing Hall of Fame member Bud Lundsford, Lanier National Speedway has been a solid race place for over 30 years. But now, hard times have befallen the Braselton, Georgia track, as officials ended the season back on Sept. 24. Unfortunately, losing a track in Georgia is not an uncommon occurrence, as famed tracks such as Lakewood Speedway, the Peach Bowl, the Atlanta Motordrome and many, many more tracks that once thrived have faded into the dust.
This week, we look at some of Georgia's lost tracks over at

In other news, the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame announced Thursday that Bubba Pollard, of Senoia, Georgia, has been named the inaugural GRHOF Driver of the Year. With 17 Late Model wins this season to date, along with the Sunoco Gulf Coast title and wins all over the southeast, Pollard is surely a great choice for the inaugural Driver of the Year award by the Hall. Pollard will be honored during the Oct. 21 GRHOF Induction Banquet on Oct. 21. You can read more at our sister site,
