This week, we take a look at the inaugural running of a race that has turned into a legendary event over at Georgia Racing History.com .

In November of 1983, the first World Crown 300 was run at Georgia International Speedway (now Gresham Motorsports Park) in Jefferson, Georgia. The biggest names in American short track racing converged on the track, including Ronnie Sanders, Gary Balough, Darrell Waltrip, Alan Kulwicki, Bobby Allison and many others.

In the end, it was one of the country's most successful racers winning the first Crown and taking home a $50,000 prize. You can read all about it this week over at Georgia Racing History.com .

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on Nov. 10 to Brian Sosebee.

Thanks everybody, and have a great week!
