Hi folks, I hope it's been a good week for everyone.
This week, remember a recently lost Georgia racing legends over at Georgia Racing History.com .
As I'm sure many of you know, we lost legendary Georgia drag racer Huston Platt back on Nov. 30. Platt was a great racer whose career was tinged with tragedy from situations beyond his control.
This week, GRH.com guest contributor Rick Minter looks back on an interview he did a few years back with Platt, and reflects on Platt finding peace with himself and his career over at Georgia Racing History.com .
In other news, congratulations to Georgia's Chase Elliott for scoring the victory last week in the legendary Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway, becoming the youngest ever winner in the 44 year history of the event. You can read a write-up on the race over at our sister site, Raceweek Illustrated .
If you're going to be around Dawsonville, Georgia this evening, be sure to stop by the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame facility for the annual Dawsonville City Christmas Tree Lighting, slated for 5:30 p.m. Also on Saturday, the Hall of Fame will host an Arts and Craft Sale inside the museum from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. So go by and have a great time!
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on Dec. 14 in memory of Lloyd Seay (1919-1941), and in memory of Alan Kulwicki (1954-1993).
