Hi folks, I hope everyone is doing well week.

This week, we look at one of the four Dawsonville, Georgia natives to score a win on Daytona Beach at Georgia Racing History.com .

In 1941, 28-year-old Bernard Long decided to try his hand at auto racing. He would turn in a second place effort at Atlanta's Lakewood Speedway, then head south to Daytona Beach, where he scored a win in only his second ever start.

And that was the end of his racing. He took his $400 in earnings and set himself up in business, never racing again. We take a look at the short but successful career of Bernard Long this week over at Georgia Racing History.com .

By the way, if you get a chance to catch this week's edition of Raceweek Illustrated Garage Talk, you'll get a chance to see an interview with third generation racer Jimmy Garmon, and see the sights from the Athens Speedway Reunion. Visit here for air times and channel information.

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on April 20 to Ron Barfield, on April 21 to Bob Varsha, and on April 26 to Gus Hutchison.

Thanks everybody, and have a great weekend!
