Hi folks, I hope everyone is doing well. This week, we remember a Georgia Racing Hall of Famer at Georgia Racing History.com .

As I'm sure many of you know, Georgia racing legend Buck Simmons passed away on Sunday at the age of 66. This week, Rick Minter shares with us the story of watching Buck compete late in his career, as he was closing in on his 1,000th win. Rick tells us about the race, and how it was to see the legendary racer do what he did best - win. You can read more about it over at Georgia Racing History.com .

We also want to congratulate the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame on last week's Lakewood Speedway Reunion, and thank all of the volunteers for their hard work to make it a success. Next week, watch for a feature story on the reunion from Georgia Racing History.com.

Please continue to keep former Georgia racer Harold Pritchett in your thoughts and prayers. Harold, the son of Georgia Racing Hall of Famer Swayne Pritchett and the brother of former driver C.L. Pritchett, was injured while on a recent fishing trip. We send our thoughts and prayers out to Harold and his family.

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on Aug. 17 to Georgia Racing Hall of Famer Rex White, on Aug. 19 to NASCAR Hall of Fame member Dale Inman, on Aug. 22 in memory of Georgia Racing Hall of Famer Bob Burcham (1935-2009), and on Aug. 23 to Anthony Lazzaro.

Thanks everybody, and have a great weekend!
