Georgia Racing Hall of Fame member Charlie Mincey raced against thebest of the best at the fastest and most legendary tracks in the stateand in the south. Race in and race out, he proved to be a force to bereckoned with on any track he raced at.

All this from an early start running moonshine from the hills ofNorth Georgia that would lead not only to victory lane, but even to thesilver screen as a stunt driver on a pair of Hollywood films.

Inother news, racers and fans of the old Athens Speedway, located inAthens, Georgia will be gathering on Saturday, March 6, to remember theold speedway and the folks that used to race and cheer for the racersthere!
