This week, we take a look at a night of honor for members of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame over at Georgia Racing History.com .

Last week, Gresham Motorsports Park played host to the first Georgia Racing Hall of Fame night. With several Hall of Fame members and friends of the Hall of Fame on hand, fans got to meet their heroes in an autograph session. That was followed by a special ceremony on the front stretch honoring the 2009 class of inductees. Halfway through the race night, fans were treated to pace laps by a host of vintage race cars on hand for the night.

If you didn't make it, you missed a great show. You can have a look at the sights of Hall of Fame night over at Georgia Racing History.com .

In other news, the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is pleased to play host to the third annual Lakewood Speedway Reunion, coming up August 7 at the Hall of Fame, located in the Dawsonville Municipal Complex in Dawsonville, Georgia.

This year, we plan to honor the Flock Brothers of NASCAR fame, Tim, Bob and Fonty, who were among the winningest drivers of record at Lakewood. Along with the three brothers, we plan to honor the other members of the Flock family that made them a unique group in the annals of Georgia Auto Racing. T.C. Chambers has also been working hard to make sure we have a host of vintage dirt track racing motorcycles on hand to pay homage to the two-wheeled history that was written at Lakewood. Cost to attend is $15, which includes a catered meal from the world famous Dawsonville Pool Room. Reservations are required. Attendants are encouraged to bring any photos or memorabilia from the speedway. For more info or to RSVP, you can call 706-265-3256. You can also get more info at www.georgiaracinghof.com .

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on May 21 to Cotton Owens, on May 24 in honor of Jack Smith (1924-2001) and on May 25 to Smokey Yunick (1923-2001).

Thanks everybody, and have a great weekend!
