We have a very special look at one of our pioneer members of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame for you this week over at Georgia Racing History.com .

Earlier this year, I was introduced to Preston Stevens of the Dixie Chapter of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club during a Hudson get together at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. As we talked, Stevens told me about an interview he conducted with the late Frank "Rebel" Mundy, in which Mundy talked about his Hudson racing days, as well as talking in depth about the tragic death of Frank Luptow at Lakewood Speedway in 1952.

Stevens has been kind enough to allow us to reprint this wonderful interview, conducted early in 1998, with this great Georgia racing legend. Mundy was a three time NASCAR winner, and was a dominant force in the AAA stock car ranks in his Hudson Hornet and later as a driver for Carl Kiekhaefer. Mundy was a 2003 inductee into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, and passed away in May of 2009.

To read more about Frank "Rebel" Mundy, head on over at Georgia Racing History.com .

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on Nov. 10 to Brian Sosebee and on Nov. 11 in memory of Sam McQuagg (1937-2009).

Thanks everybody, and have a great weekend!
