Happy Birthday Rex, I was at Glen Burnie Speedway in Glenn Burnie, Md. in 1956 when Lou Johnson was driving No. 40 sponsored by Ambler Cams out of Philly. He was really late and you begged the owners to let you drive. And they wouldn't let you drive. You sure show them when you won the national championship a few years later! Huh!. Johnson never won anything! I was in the pit crew next to you with Glenn Guthrie, later the NASCAR Modified Champion. He flipped that night in the feature on the No. 4 turn. Rex will be the Guest of Honor at the 6th Annual Augusta Vintage Nationals on September 12th. He has attended all previous five events and took part in the initial placement of the monument in the "5WKids Outdoor Learning Area" at Motorsports Memorial Plaza in 2004.Stop by and tell Rex thanks for all that he does with Vintage/Historic Motorsports.
