Looks like that Ford was running a little rich. Hard to believe Wally and I were standing on that line a few days ago.

It wasn't rich............it was a new clutch. In those days we had to seat the disc in and it was slipping......The smoke was not coming out of the headers but from the new clutch......never smoked again.

The clutches was a rag disc..........they smoked when they were new. After I left Ford, Chrysler's clutch disc did not smoke.......they were bonded and riveted. It was fun to have a new clutch with Ford to seat it in at a match race..........I was ready to go to Indy with two different clutches with NO SMOKE!
