There has been exactly ONE NASCAR GN / Cup race held on February 29th.

February 29, 1976 - Carolina 500 at Rockingham
It was a wild one. Bobby Allison took a huge tumble after banging with Cale Yarborough.
And the race was won by - well, who else? - The King!
I know at least a couple of you were there - Thanks to RR's Johnny Boone, Lynn Hughes, Jerry Bushmire, and Billy Kingsley for your contributions!

I did not remember this race being on Feb 29th. I was working on the track crew and we were just inside the pits heading into turn 3. I still remember seeing Bobby's car starting to roll over. The sounds, the view of the car tumbling, and me trying to find a place to run in case the car came over the guard rail and into the pits are still fresh in my mind. In the last photo, the guy in the photo just above the front tire is me. I grabbed my camera and snapped photos while cleaning up the debris. If I can locate the photos, I'll upload and share with everyone. Thanks, Bob
