After this weeks race finish do you have any different feelings of him now??

He ran up front in everything he entered this past week at Daytona. He led and he helped others to the front and in the end he finished Second. Did Dale Earnhardt Jr meet or exceed your expectations??

Well, I did find another site with a header clock counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds since his last win, but did not want to be accused of bad taste!

I will say this... I would like to see Junior win races.

Other than his role as Danica's Nationwide owner at Daytona, there'll never be another race weekend with less spotlight on Dale, Jr.

Ok it was a legal nitemare to start with, but after all the T's were crossed and the eye's dotted there still remains a small matter you may have slightly overlooked.

The car was prepared per Nationwide specs, not some other winning secret with a formula.. He won the race by driving the car to the ability he has .. When the same effects fall into place this year you WILL hear Jr Nation over all other noises. He was a winner--and still is to this day, some have a foggy picture they are trying to forsee the effects of Money, that alone will not win races but when the latter fall s into place (the ability) you will be amazed

When Dale Earnhardt Senior's three children were racing NASCAR Late Model Stock cars in the Winston Racing Series, he purchased their cars from Rick Townsend and Ricky Dennis in Richmond at Townsend Race Cars. Many folk thought that the best driver of the three Earnhardt children was Kelley.

In my opinion, Jr. had the fastest car there...heck, at one point near the end...he was pushing BOTH cars in front of him! If he would have had a "running mate" when he was pushing the 1st & 2nd place cars, the finish wouldn't have even been close!! I hear the "nation" starting to rumble!!! Great posts, Johnny!!!!!

Jr brought the car home in one piece - and a 2nd place finish at a track where he was expected to do well felt good to the team I'm sure. Obviously 1 race doesn't make a season so we'll see where he goes from here. If Dale Jr returns to winning, is it good for NASCAR? Most folks say so. But those same folks say a winning Yankees team is good for baseball, the NFL benefits from hot teams like the Packers and Cowboys, the Red Wings (and any Canadian team that can win) help the NHL, and a Lakers/Celtics final helps the NBA (scratch that - I'm not sure anything can help the NBA. Not even this Lin kid.)

But you know, I'm not crazy about ANY of those scenarios because they aren't my personal fave. So frankly, any Dale Jr win will be one less win for any team I pull for. So a selfish basis, I'm not too concerned about the streak continuing.

Having said that, I still can't resist including this:

This season will be different in many ways--teams are different--priority's are set differently with each team, and desire is way more matured too... So the little team will be fired up,as Daytona showed, and the biggg teams---well they got to quit rocking bryans boat ---all in all The Candy car will go good with the dew car no alcoholic cars needed

Same old Dale Jr. He did not even come close to dominating that race at all. Another nice points day for him. As much as I like him, he does not drive with as much determination or drive like Tony Stewart. I am liking Tony Stewart more. Dale Jr had many chances and opportunities in this race to win it and he blew it. He just did not race as hard as I think he could. In the past I have seen Smoke, Edwards and Harvick have these incredible bursts. Dale Jr has not had one race where he has really dominated.
