Thats right . Do you know who Tiny bought this car from and what big race it won?
Was it ever a Charlie Blanton car?
This was a Grand National East event that had GN cars, GA cars and ARCA cars in the field. By the way, the car Wayne Andrews drove was a '70 Mustang owned by Roanoke's Jack St.Clair. He drove the Ham car in 1974.
I think your right Dave, Charlie Blanton also drove this car.
Yep , Charlie won the 1973 ARCA race at DAYTONA in this car .
Johnny, I knew Charlie won the ARCA race at Daytona but did not know it was in this car. How COOL is that? The same car on dirt and Daytona.
Thanks, Johnny. Very interesting.
Charlie gave me the victory lane picture i will scan it when i get home and try to post it in the morning
Johnny, I grew up in Richmond. First time I ever saw Charlie he was driving (I believe) a pale yellow #10 Camaro at our June 1968 NASCAR GT race on the old half-mile dirt Richmond Fairgrounds track. The race was won by Donnie Allison in the Jerri Huggins #27 Mustang.
Charlie still lives in Gaffney S C and Igo see him from time to time . All those good ole boy drivers are about gone
I saw Chuck occassionally in the 70s when he came over to Wilson - very infrequently.
That is it. Thanks, Johnny.
