I have just added a page for Jimmy Ingram and the old Cheraw Speedway, SC at www.LegendsofNascar.com/Jimmy_Ingram.htm
Good morning Roland:
Your site is growing and I still review it from time to time, as I am getting closer to writing that book, and am continuing to doing a lot of research. I wish I had paind more attention to saving 'stuff' while i was still involved.
I particularly appreciate your including me on you website. It was very kind of you and I appreciate it. I still plan on visiting with you if I get back down your way.
Roland,
Thanks for putting Jimmy Ingram on your Legends site. It is indeed guys like Jimmy that made Nascar what it is today. I ran across Jimmy's name when researching the old Rockingham Speedway dirt track, Not only did he own and operate the track at Cheraw but he raced and won at Rockingham. Also saw where he flagged at Wadesboro Speedway.
Dennis: You are correct. Drivers like Ingram are the yesteryear fabric of the racing of today and they are "due their due". Thanks for the suggestion. Anything you write can be added to the site. The site is NOT affiliated with NASCAR, but as I am in the Daytona Beach area, I am determined to get info like this out there.
Roland
Will: People like you helped make the sport we enjoy. Of course the enjoyment today is much removed from the joy of yesteryear when innovation ruled the day. As you are an innovator, I am sure you understand. Good communicating with you again. I am going to have to start paying more attention here.
Roland
Awesome! Thanks for the update, Roland. It was nice to finally get to meet you. You have anincredible body of work there.
