Did You Catch the Irony of Tony's Statement?

Please, please, please... this is not a post about who is right or who is wrong, so please nobody get your panties in a wad.

Just wondered if anyone else caught the irony of Tony Stewart chastising Joey Logano for sending Denny Hamlin to the hospital following Denny's crash into a Fontana inside track wall not protected by SAFER Barrier?

Is it not ironic that there has already been controversy about the upcoming dirt track Truck race at Tony's Eldora track because it doesn't have SAFER Barrier protection?

International Speedway Corporation, NASCAR, the France family and the Kennedy family all have enough money that there should no longer be one single inch of outside or inside wall at any track where NASCAR competes that is not protected by SAFER Barrier. Period.

The Fontana race was exciting (at least the final 12 laps as one driver noted), but a driver going to the hospital in a crash reminiscent of Danica Patrick's at Daytona in 2012 might have been prevented had there been SAFER Barrier.

Speaking of Danica, if that little friend of Johnny's was counting mentions of her name during the Fontana telecast, they likely didn't even have to use all of their fingers and toes to total the tally!

Interesting you mention the need to have SAFERs everywhere. While I don't have data to support it, I just feel like non-SMI tracks have been lacking in putting them everywhere the last few years. I'm basing it on a few wrecks I can recall, and I may be off. But it just seems that way.

Elliott Sadler 2010 Cup hit at Pocono

Miguel Paludo 2012 Truck wreck at Daytona

Danica 2012 Nationwide wreck at Daytona

Mark Martin 2012 Cup hit against Michigan pit wall

Hamlin 2013 Cup at Cali

I'm not looking to pile on ISC or Pocono (especially Brandon Igdalsky & his team have upgraded Pocono). And I know SMI tracks weren't perfect (e.g. Jeff Gordon at Vegas). But it would be interesting to know what sort of risk assessment ISC's staff go through to determine where SAFER barriers should be installed and where its presumed they aren't needed.

Listening to the race on the radio, I did hear Danica mentioned each time they gave a full field rundown.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

The final lap and post-race altercation in Sunday's race at Auto Club Speedway have captured headlines, but just wait until you see it from Joey Logano 's point of view.

This is must see video: http://msn.foxsports.com/ nascar/shakeandbake/ logano-in-car-pov-hamlin-crash- stewart-fight/ .
