Allen, a friend, and myself went to South Boston on Sat. to see the Modifieds and Late Models run, and I was amazed at the crowd that was there. It was 20.00 to get in and I thought that the stands would be looking empty, but to my surprise there were not many seats that were not taken. Hats off to the SoBo crew for promoting a great event. It may have been because of the Mad House program butI dont think everyone was there because of that. I hope this is a sign of things to come that we will be filling stands everywhere. We need to have a great summer and a great season. Is anyone else seeing things picking up?

I attended the first two LMSC races at South Boston this year and saw some great racing both days but as usual they drag the show out by talking to almost everyone in the pits. The idea of great short track race show is to bring the fans in, feed them, entertain them, and get them on their way home at a decent hour. Don't drag the show out until the fans can't enjoy it. With the garbage of Sprint Cup Racing local tracks have a golden opertunity to re-establish a strong fan base if they would only open their seemingly blind eyes. I also hope that short track racing has a resurgence but alas track operators need to be smarter in running their shows.

I am pulling for the short tracks, so go South Boston. But Cornelius has a very valid point. While I love the racing action provided on the short tracks., dragging it on and on gets tiresome.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Dublin (NC) Speedway's 2010 opening event was Saturday April 3rd. To everyone's surprise, over 80 race cars were in the pits......the super-street division had in excess of 30 entries and the field had to be limited to 24 cars!! The fan-count was impressive too. Hopefully, Saturday night racing is making a come-back!

The race you attended was the Whelen Southern Modified Tour and the K&N Pro Series (Old Busch East Series) and not a "Late Model" race.I can't wait to see the 2 run again together June 6th at Martinsville Speedway.

I have attended 3 races so far this season. Here is my take on 2010 season.(1) Dillon=Great car count and sell out grandstands. The concessions was right there with Grandma's cooking. The Racing was "off the hook". Home from Dillon by 1:30 and this included stopping to eat (yes again) and 1:45 minute drive home(2) Concord= Fair car count, would have liked to seen better. Fairly decent crowd especially when compared to previous seasons. $1 dollar concessions makes all food taste good. Racing was some of the best I have ever saw at Concord. Home by 12:15 which includes 2 hour ride home.(3) I-77= AWESOME car count approx 140 total cars. Standing room only crowd! Concessions, long lines meant great food. Racing couldn't have gotten any better with track conditions which were poor for dirt racing. But my only down fall here.... home at 1:45am after 50 minute ride home and still had 1 feature left. Dragged out way TOOOO far!So yes I would have to agree racing is picking up!...Do your part ....Support your local track
