Stock Car Ballast Question for Johnny Mallonee & Tommie Clinard

I just read a Bill France quote from 1938 and wondered what you fellows ran for ballast at your Georgia tracks?!

Well I had trouble with that pig,all she wanted was to run and squeal but that caw... Now that took some doing as she thought those tight sitting jeans made her o-so slim. Trouble is in the turns neither the pig or cow worked.. Bottled water was best especially if you got that special kind off hiway 9..

I gotta believe that the smart guys would go with a hog. Lower center of gravity. You never heard of any college boys going out pig tipping, have you?
