Grand American race #4 of 1970 was held at Lakewood Speedway, a 1 mile dirt oval near Atlanta, Georgia. Tiny Lund put his Camaro on the pole with Jim Paschal alongside. As Tiny and Jim led the field into turn one in a cloud of dust the 9 th place starter Bobby Wilson got his Camaro crossed up and spun collecting the rest of the field. Only 8 drivers avoided the accident with the cars of David Boggs, Jimmy Capps, Bobby Fleming and Ernie Shaw damaged too much to continue. When the race continued Lund led the first 35 laps before Ken Rush went out front for ten laps. When Tiny went back to the lead on lap 46 he held it the rest of the way to claim his 3 rd win in a row. !969 Grand Touring Champion Ken Rush was second the only other car on the lead lap.
Twenty one cars took the green with 14 running at the finish. Lund collected $1,200 of the $8,760 purse. There were 2 cautions for 14 laps.

#14 Jim Paschal gets into the back of #9 Stan Starr, Jr. while battling #15 Wayne Andrews. The contact must have damaged the oil cooler as the race report had oil pressure as reason Paschal was out of the race.
