Wanted share how my trip to Charlotte turned out. It was great and I won something better than a new Toyota Camry. I did compete in the Camry Give-A-Way but didn't make it past the first cut down to the top 8. The Toyota people were great and we did get to meet Joey Lagono and a free meal and all the Cokes and water we could take. Then one of the girls from Toyota approached the gentleman I had been sitting with all morning, Dan McClean, and ask him if he would like to drive on of the trucks during driver intros. The offer was for 2 people and he ask me to ride with him. What a treat! I jumped at the chance and we hoped on a bus and rode to the waitting trucks stationed off the backstretch. 7 rows,3 acrossof new Toyota trucks, one row was Red, the next was White and the last was Blue. Danwill be 73 next week and had been battling leg cramps all morning, so when we were instructed to select a truck, Dan went to the closes one avaliable, middle of the second row. We headed out in order, red, white and blue, we were truck #5. We parked on the front stretch near the stage and waited for our turn to take part in the festivities. When ourturn arrived we picked up J.J. Yeley and his young daughterand Michael McDowell andheaded off on our dilivery. It was great towitness the way the fans cheer and encouraged the drivers as they rode safelyin the back of our sparkling white Toyota truck. After the drop off we waited in the infield till all the trucks had made their diliveries and then drove back to the area where we picked up the trucks, hoped a bus and was driven to the gate of our choosing. I was the last off and made to my seatsjust as they started their 4th lap. Great seats, good people and the chance of a life time. This was much better than a new Camry. I have been so blessed lately. Of all the races I've attended at Charlotte since 1973, this ranks in the top 5. I wish everyone could havetheoppertunity to do this, it was so fun. Thanks Dan, I'll never forget it.
