Wonder how many fans will get the screws put to them for the cost of these new programs. It has already cost the teams millions in testing and R&D. I also wonder how many tax breaks that come with promoting these new programs in Daytona.

My stomach is turning green as NASCAR lines its pockets with green.

Because NASCAR is followed by millions of passionate fans and many businesses, it can be a powerful platform to raise environmental awareness, drive the adoption of safer products by more Americans, and support the growing green economy, said Jim Jones, EPAs acting assistant administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.

And just who would know more about racing and its fans than the "acting assistant administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention"? DUH HUH!!

On second thought, could there be a Toyota Prius, Nissan Leaf and the (Neo-Edsel) aka Chevy Volt, in NASCAR's future? Just think how the planet would benefit! Isn't life a bowl of cherries after all!

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, NASCAR will encourage fans to buy sustainable concessions at races, expand the use of safer chemical products, conserve water, reduce waste, promote recycling, push products approved by the EPA that have a small enviro footprint and encourage suppliers to get an E3 tuneup aimed at promoting sustainable manufacturing.

The EPA's definition of "encourage" is most likely not the same as mine. When has the EPA ever done anything that wasn't inexpensive !!! They are doing this for the fans though ,uh huh.Makes me wonder what kind of tax break and other bag of goody's Nascar will be getting from this.Same as always thought the fan's will pay for this and get NOTHING for it.Is the Big Guy from Florida gonna get to speak at the DNC now in Charlotte?

Hey, y'all they could start with super-charged-bio-degradable hot dog wrappers......instant bio-degradation BEFORE plastering an air-intake opening. But, as Isaac Newton has stated, the equal and opposite reaction to instantaneous bio-degradation, is less crap to generate the ubiquitous debris caution. Not too good, after-all!

I really hate to bring Politics into racing, but they have pushed their way into it on their own.My bet is when Michelle Obama got the booing from the race in Florida last year Mr.Obama was sitting back thinking you will get your's.What Pitbull is any larger then the EPA.We as stupid race folks ( their thoughts)aren't smart enough to make our on decisions on what is safe for us.Now that the EPA ...along with other D.C. folks can help us out with us paying for it.I can not believe they waited this long ,seeing how them big nasty stinking racecar's pollute the atmosphere with all that bad gas they burn.

Coming off turn 4 with the green green flag waving ( as Brian plants a tree) is Tony Stewart in his Chevy Volt with Denny Hamlin in his Toyota Prius side by side. After race interview Tony thanked his sponsors.... ( Wesson cooking oil for fuel that powered his Chevy Volt)...( Budweiser recycling for the sheet metal on his Volt)...

He also thanked the city of San Francisco for putting on such a great green race on.Their road course built out of old tires had plenty of grip. Hopefully next year when we come back we can use our electric hauler across country.I would also like to thank President Obama for helping us make Nascar a safer and greener place to race.

I watched again a piece on Smokey Yunick the other night when he was at the Rotary Club speaking ( I LOVE THAT MAN).If the Big Government want's to help us poor race folks, maybe they can allow us to clone Smokey and let him run the show.Sorry for the rant.

What about the GREEN FLAG deal they promised----Nascar is supposed to plant 10(T E N) trees every time the green flag is thrown----Patty K you keep up with how many times the green flag is thrown and Dave can count the trees planted--------then we will see who gets to a hundred first...
