Nice article Patrick ,great read...Articles as this is the reason i read this site regularly..I had the opportunity and was blessed to be around some wise men in racing growing up...At times some of the words they would say would crack me up,,my thinking was they're just talking old fashion and need to get caught up on what is going now....Well over the years i have seen,,these old fashion guy's might be right and i was wrong....Racing is unlike any other sport as Patrick has pointed out ..The first race i ever seen i was hooked,,,i hear this all the time from others...I'm don't think i can be transformed into today's Nascar fan..Some might call that hard headed but from what i see in today's Nascar not much there for me....
I don't have the answers but like some have stated i know what i like...Jack you nailed it with your post ''no common sense''...In the years i have been around the racing one man gave me star struck J.R.Johnson self taught no degree in anything other than the love of racing...To be honest i see nascar as boring along with most of the drivers...Thanks again guy's,,the older wiser crowd still lives here.

And we hope for the best that Nascar will come back to us...I was raised on racing and raised my son the same..I went to a dirt race while i was back N.C. and it was packed mostly with middle aged and seniors..We are still here waiting for how long ,,is left up to Nascar.

Them 2 have been playing poker since that track has been there....I grew up and lived within 3 miles of that track over 40 yrs....Same ole game they both play and you know who loses each time ???
