Either I was away from the world or I was in that island where you see the sun set with that pretty lady in the hammock but;2.4 liter V-8's? I didn't read any of that. Guess I better take a closer look.OK, you are right. Fuel Injection is NASCAR's idea.Surely that will increase ticket sales and boost TV ratings. Of course the sponsors will flock to NASCAR now that the cars will be running Fuel Injection.Makes you wonder why it took so long to come up with such a great revenue boosting idea ha.The Mustang and Challenger bodies coming this year in the Nationwide series must have been NASCAR's idea too, since they have all the brains.Oh by the way Chevrolet has a new Camero too, that was Brians idea too I guess. Now explain to me how putting injection systems on the cars will draw more sponsors or put more fans in the stands. The one thing it "will" do is give Nascar a way of controlling the speed of the cars at the big tracks. They could put such a curve in the computer that they could just throw the templates away and let the boys have at it on the cars---Now think about that,a different look for each team, wow back to basics almost like old times. It could almost get an interest back into the business of Racing per say. I know it sounds like im rambling but stop and think about it for a minute, you know what you got for an engine package now put together a car that looks like the car you say you are driving, now wouldnt that be easy on the eyes --think win on Sunday sell on Monday ----My take on the subject now lets hear yours

Johnny, I simply don't know. I love the fact that Nationwide is going to what will "appear" to be stock bodied cars but the problem here is that the Chevy Camaro can't run because it does not have the "C" pillar. I didn't think the Mustang and Challenger did either, but that's what I'm told by someone in the know on NASCAR rules. The other way I heard it was that Chevy didn't want to race the Camaro because they didn't want to have to build so many and sell them because that would take away some of the "uniqueness" of the car. Just more b.s. from whichever side you listen to. Carburators, fuel injection, square wheels, whatever, is not going to bring the real fans back to the sport. It is going to take someone in NASCAR willing to admit that many of the fans they draw now are the locals from the area where the track is located who want something to do on a Sunday afernoon . Nothing more. Can true fans NOT know who Lee Petty was? Fireball Roberts? Would a true fan listen to a Kentucky idiot now living in Tennessee selling Toyotas talk about the NASCAR history began in 1980?Truck racing is the best from what I've seen this year, followed by Nationwide and then Cup. But I still go back to that ARCA race at The Rock last October. That was the best racing I had seen since 1976. Oh, sorry, 1976 was BEFORE NASCAR history started.I keep hoping for improvement. Maybe someday. But Johnny, like you always say........"memories". As long as I have those and some dvds of the 1950s and 60s racing, I will survive.Tim
