Okay, it seems that the downtown Richmond address for Commonwealth Ford was 2024 West Broad. Pleasant's Hardware occupies the building that was the former Commonwealth Ford address, and this is just east of the Science Museum (Broad Street Station) and I believe the old DMV which was the ONLY area DMV back then. All of you youngsters that worked at and bought cars from the Belt Blvd Commonwealth Ford have just had a little history lesson. I am only messing with you, but I do recall a visit to Universal Ford on Broad Street when they displayed a brand new '65 (?) Ford Cobra. It was on the second floor showroom and roped off to keep visitors at a distance because the aluminum body was subject to damage easily. I don't recallaccurately, but I seem to remember the ticket was 6K+. (at least 2K more than most any popular ride then)
I am not a Ford guy particularly, but I have always appreciated the classics that were popular through the years, and still do. (and I might buy a Cobra if I ran across an original one for six grand....Ha!)
