Secret of "The Legend's" Lawn Mower Revealed

Our Own Legend, Tim Leeming got into a conversation on last Tuesday night's Goat Rodeo Racing Through History broadcast about cutting grass and his lawn mower.

He confirmed his mower was many years old, but had an American built Briggs & Stratton engine, not Japanese Kawasaki or Honda power. He said a fellow down the road kept it up for him when it needed maintenance.

Now, after much research, I believe I may have found the model of Tim's long owned lawn mower, along with a picture of a guy test riding it for him.

And for all you youngsters... long before Lowes had Jimmie Johnson driving for them, they had The King wheeling their Petty blue mowers!

But Dave, mine is a push mower. lol. My Daddy had one of the Petty Blue riding jobs but it long since bit the dust. He bought it in the 70s I think, and still had it when he died in 1993. My younger brother kept using it to cut the grass for my Mom at the home place until one day it caught fire and burned to a crisp. But I have always used the push mower pretending it is a way to get exercise.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I suspect Tim may be playing possum with us. A long-time King fan? Who takes the time each day to post Racing Minutes? He doesn't have time to PUSH a mower. And if he had that old Lowes mower, he'd likely have it mounted somehow in his lair. No sir, I think THIS is the Petty mower he tools about these days.
