Guess What I Saw Today?

This is NOT stock car racing and I thought the car was exceptionally cheesy (at least two slices of Bopper's brie worth) when introed in 1969, but on the way home from the grocery store this morning, a pristine 1969 Pontiac GTO "The Judge" turned in front of me.

It's chrome wheels were gleaming brilliantly in the Saturday morning Charlotte sun and its puke yellowish/orange paint job looked as though it had just been freshly puked on this very Saturday morning by a crew who'd eaten too much turkey on Thursday.

However, it was cool to see how the American muscle car had evolved into pure crap by this time and it was cool to see a 1969 model anything out on the street cruising.

Remember Polyglass tires?

Remember that Pontiac even had bubble gum music group Paul Revere and the Raiders shilling The Judge !

Such descriptive phares!!!!! Dave, you are overstuffed with turkey my friend. Painted quite a picture for me which I am sure will cause me to lie awake tonight.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I had a 69 GTO, 400 ram air engine and black w/ dark red interior.....A really great car once I replaced the plastic capped timing gear teeth with a solid steel one. ran like the wind...too many tickets tho.

Dave, great picture and lots of memories..love those American drag lite wheels. From the placement of the headers and driver position I'd say the motor is set back quite a bit...Saw Arnie "the Farmer" Beswick run many times at Kil-Kare In Xenia,Ohio...
