As I have been involved in motorsports for many years now, first as a fan, and then working in the business for many years, I have found that the racing fraternity has always rallied around a cause for someone that is involved in "their" sport. I am asking that you please read this and support our cause. And it won't cost you one dime.April is National Donate Life Month. This is to bring awareness to organ donation, and a celebration for those who have committed to be an organ or tissue donor. My wife successfully went through a kidney/pancreas transplant back on December 18,2009. She received her organs from Cinncinnati Bengal receiver Chris Henry, who tragically died from head injuries in Charlotte, NC. Four other people also received organs from him. His mother had to couragously make the choice to donate his organs so that others may have a second chance at life. We had the honor to meet her and the other transplant receprients. The story is that my wife who had suffered from diabetes for 33 years, and then the subsequent kidney failure and peritoneal dialysis, got on the transplant list and one day got "the call". The ride has been inspirational, very emotional and yet so full-filling. Our son now has a "normal" mother. The gift of life changed her life and all of ours as well. Please join our new club as an RR Organ Donor/Supporter. I would love to make this one of the largest clubs on Racers Reunion. If you are or would like to become an organ donor or just support the effort, please write or join.Thank you all and may God Bless you.Sincerely - N.B., Donna and Austin Arnold

My sister-in-law is now a 2-year heart transplant survivor. I can't imagine anyone not electing on their driver license to be an organ donor. Come August, my wife will be a 10-year breast cancer survivor and I particularly appreciate all the money, time, and effort over the years that were expended by the Ford racing program and Dale Jarrett in particular to support the "Race for the Cure".

I to have been a donor for many years as is my entire family. We even have teamed with the local donors in this area and have grapics on the side of some of our trailers of some of the donors and receprients and their pictures. We have recieved alot of feedback from this effort. Thanks for posting this. The NC organ and tissue donor program also uses a motorsports graphics company to install these grapics on the trailers.

N.B.

I joined the club and invited all my friends. There is also a discussion forum on the club. Please copy and paste this post there, too. I temporarily posted the link to this forum so folks visiting the club can read the story.

Thanks for sharing your family's story.

Jeff
