Make My Driver.

You would have a girl who had a pet raccoon and who was married six or seven times!

Doesnt look like anyone watched the show Sat. nite

Current NASCAR

The answer to all your questions is yes but the race I saw was at Bowman Gray Stadium! But that is another thing with more to come on it later.

Bad Brad's Sonny Hutchins/Emanuel Zervakis Look-A-Like Richmond Car

Stock Car Racing History

Don't want to burst any bubbles here, but Penske recently signed this sponsor to a couple of race Cup deal. They actually ran this color combination and sponsor last year in Nationwide with Sam Hornish.
But, I do think it looks much like Sonny's old car.

Tempers, Suspensions and Losing Driving Championships

Stock Car Racing History

From the best of my recollection, Jack got into it with someone during a late model stock race at New Asheville and a fight broke out. Correct my memory if incorrect. A good source would be an old Winston Cup Scene or Racing News. Fellow RR member Bob Dudley was probably there and could give us the story.

Tempers, Suspensions and Losing Driving Championships

Stock Car Racing History

I now remember this now that you mention it. Funny how some of us "old" racing folks have forgotten more than some of the new ones know as that old say'in goes!

Thanks Randy, was wondering about that. Sounds like the way to go. Hope to see you there. Stop by our seats if you can.

Madhouse!

Stock Car Racing History

Thanks for the info Randy! We come in on MLK off bus. 40 and park behind the front stretch in the west lot. Guess we will have to deal with this all season, but hopefully worth it.

Madhouse!

Stock Car Racing History

Well RR members, only seven days until opening day on April 26th for the 66th season at Bowman Gray Stadium aka "the madhouse", "still the most exciting of them all", "home of the hot modifieds", and "Winston-Salem's longest running professional sports event". My son and I always look forward to this Saturday. Opening day always brings a new excitement and sets the tone for what seems to happen the rest of the season. The plan is to arrive early and visit the pits after marking our seats. We are always on the front stretch, down gate 23 and sit on either row M,N,O or P on the right hand side in the end seats. It's great to see the drivers we haven't seen in several months and catch up with old friends. When they run us out of the pits at 5 pm we head off the eat and get back to claim a parking spot, and my son and I pass the football while waiting. The trick is if you mark your seat ahead of time, you don't have to wait in the long ticket line. When the gates open you have to get program and then you rest assured you will get your monies worth. It is usually not long before you see, or someone does, something worth the price of admission. For only $10.00 you can't beat it!I know fellow RR members Billy Biscoe, Robert Mitchell, Randy Myers and my self will be there. Perhaps we can get a RR group there! Anyone wishing to join in the real racing chime in.

Why I Didn't Take Grandsons Dirt Racing Tonight

Local and Regional Short Track Racing

Dave, fear not as the season opens at Bowman Gray in three weeks for the official start of red neck high-holy days. You can't beat it and can go in the pits before and after. Can't beat the price. We will be there! Join us. Also the red neck solstice actually begins on Sunday with WrestleMania!
At the stadium you can be sure that something stupid may happen and the kids will love the view, the racing and excitement.
