In Charlotte, what to do, what to do?

I'm in Charlotte for ESRI training and I was hoping some of you could share with me some lesser known sights or places to visit while I'm here. I've been to the HOF, Sam Bass and Concord Mill. Any ideas? Thought about possible shop visits but I don't think they allow visitors after 5:00.

I'm bored out of my mind after class. I hope someone has some ideas. Thanks

Mooresville Drag Strip http://www.mooresvilledragway.com/schedule/new_page_1.htm

It is off of Hwy.152 between China Grove and Mooresville on Wilkinson Rd.

I do not know if you care for motorcycles or not but along with Hooters on Bruton Smith Blvd. is Quaker Steak and Lube which has a bike night every Wed. night. Iron Thunder Saloon across Bruton Smith Blvd. from Quaker Steak in front of Pat Rodgers HD has bike nights on Thurs. night. Iron Thunder has good food also.

Quaker Steaks Bike Night is mostly sport bike riders now but Iron Thunder's Bike Night is more into the cruiser type bikes mostly HD.

I enjoyed Big Daddy's Burger Bar when I was in Charlotte in spring 2010.

Great burgers, sweet potato fries, good selection of very cold craft beers.

I live north of Charlotte in China Grove. I try my best not to get any closer to Charlotte then Bruton Smith Blvd. and then only on the east side of I-85. LOL

My daughter usually has our grandchildren's birthday partys at different places in Concord Mills. That is about the only time I will go there and I don't like it even then.

None sound very good to me, but that is because I don't drink. I'm a stick in the mud. No drinking or smoking and I prefer not to be around it if possible. I would think most places of interest close around 5:00 so I don't know what my options are. Thanks for the info, guess I'll sit in the room and read. Great book for anyone interested in the Civil War and Gettysburg, reat The Killer Angels.
