1956 - Driving for Hubert Westmoreland, Jimmy Massey wins the convertible race at Southern States Fairgrounds in Charlotte. It was his 2nd of 3 career wins in the series - all in 1956.

1957 - Marvin Panch wins a Lincoln Speedway in New Oxford, PA.

1958 - Driving a convertible, Joe Weatherly beat the hard tops to win the Nashville 200 in Music City.

1969 - Lee Roy Yarbrough wins the Dixie 500 in Atlanta after starting 2nd alongside Cale Yarborough in the Wood Brothers Ford.

And two from 1986...

First, the late, great Tim Richmond win the Budweiser at the Glen in the return of NASCAR's Cup series to upstate New York. ( John Betts photo)

And on the opposite side of the country, Hershel McGriff won a Winston West Series race on the street course of Tacoma, WA.

Chase, Dave, it's great to have all these additional memories for August 10th added. The photos are awesome. I do so enjoy seeing photographs from those days of my youth. Kinda puts a little extra bounce in my step.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
