What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Tim... It's not currently on my agenda.

Did you see where Richard is moving the museum back to Level Cross? I had missed it. Just saw this story from July in the Greensboro paper:

Richard Petty to move museum back home again

Posted: Wednesday, July 17, 2013 11:56 pm | Updated: 11:58 pm, Wed Jul 17, 2013.

RANDLEMAN Richard Petty is going to take his stuff and go home.

The King said Wednesday that its time to take the Richard Petty Museum now located in Randleman and move it back to Level Cross.

Theres no history here, he said after a press conference promoting the races next month in Bristol. All the history is back at the shop.

Musuem workers will begin moving the vast collection of trophies and cars and guns, along with the huge assortment of Lynda Pettys dolls and figurines, and take them one section at a time to the original site of Petty Enterprises on Branson Mill Road.

This isnt a typical museum, he said. Its not so much a racing museum as it is a Petty Family museum. Museums dont work anyway. Look at all those halls of fame, even the NASCAR deal in Charlotte. I tried to tell them that wouldnt work.

Petty said theres no timetable for the move.

Its going to take a while to get all this stuff out of here, he said.

Dave, I did see where Richard was taking it back to Level Cross. I think that is a good thing. Back in the 60s and early 70s, we would go to his shop often, four or five times a year at least. We had free run of the shop and all the junk yard behind the shop. Richard was so good to us as was Dale Inman. Even Maurice was nice to us but he could get feisty with little provocation! lol
