What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

We towed cross-country from our tiny shop in Campobello, SC for Cup rookie, Derrike Cope's third start of 1986, driving the Western Peterbilt Thunderbird owned out of Seattle, Washington by Seattle garbage magnate Warren Razore/Rabanco Racing. After a nice 15th place qualifying run, our rookie's hopes exploded along with his engine not long after the half-way point.

Scott, this may be your photo. I honestly don't remember where I found it.

Richmond started the year with his 25 numerals in gold and backed with black. I thought the look was tremendous.

Shortly thereafter - maybe even after Daytona? - the Hendrick team switched to plain white numerals. - Alan Woodward

But in Scott's pic from the 86 Riverside race, it looks like the team used numbers that were a bit slanted. Not sure if Tim ran them in that format in other races or not. He returned to the regular 25 for the other road course race on the schedule, Watkins Glen. - John Betts

Not my photo, but maybe a gentleman named George Andrews.

Here's one from practice. Note the blank rear quarter panels

Pics from 2 different races? Red v. gold numerals and different contingencies. Scott's has ROTY decal in front of rear tire as well.
