This car may be in fact the very first or second modified race car that Rene Charland ever drove!! It was a car that my Grandfather on the left "Bud" (Burton Octave Peck) built in the mid to late 50's when he owned "Peck's Service Station in Naugatuck CT, he used a "almost new" V-8 motor out of a Lincoln car crash that was total wreck but the motor was still good and a monster at that! My dad on the right (Bruce Charles Hansell) was the financial supporter. They had two drivers but Rene Charland was the main guy they used. I believe that most of the races were at Waterford Speedbowl.Some may have been at Staford Springs,West Haven or even Thomson. They only raced this car #69 for a couple of years so I'm not sure if they kept in contact with Rene as time went on. Anyway... I just thought that Rene fans would appreciate this little bit of Rene' history.
