The sparks from sliding on the roof caught Mikes hair on fire. After the car stopped rolling Mike reached up and grabbed the roll bar that had been ground in half from sliding for so long and burnt his hands. That was the only injury he had. He climbed the wall coming off of turn 2 and wound up between 3 &4 when it was over.
Thanks for this. There is a Mike Messer that races around here (from Lake Wylie, SC) and we showed this to him several years ago, because we found it in an old RACING NEWS we had and he said it was not him, thats interesting that theres two Mike Messers in racing.
