Leland often (dad made sure I was exposed to racing) I was there on the Sunday that unfortunately we lost Tony Williams Sr. A different era indeed. Got to hang in the pits at Richard;s pender country track a lot. An old school age friend of mine Mark Lane had a street stock Timmy Horrell drove. then a chevy Wayne Lanier drove. Some good racing there too. 

Would love to see some old photos of Jackie Rodgers car - Hop Holmes, Brickhouse. Even the old street stock car my buddy Mark Lane entered at Richard's track (pender county speedway) when Timmy Horrell drove it . Those were great times! I see a few out there but there has to be more polaroids out there  

They put this car out in front of a bank located on south college rd in Wilmington NC right down from Long Leaf Mall. Trophy on the top! You could walk right up and check it out. One beautiful car up close  

I would love to know, 1) does anyone have contact info for Jackie Rogers from the old Cape Fear (Leland) and Pender Co. Speedway days? I run iRacing (an oldie in the sim racing world I am) and want to paint up a Jackie tribute car. I'm 57 and Jackie was my childhood hero. Just want him to know "thanks for the great memories" I used to crew the old street stock rides Mark Lane prepped that ran at Pender County. Used to be based on Castle Hayne Rd. at the old Phillips 66 station belonging to Mark's father Shelby Lane, I've seen some photos but wanted something a little clearer so I can get the look of the car right
