Learned from records from Bennett Speedway that Burhead's actual name was probably Homer Nantz and not spelled Nance as I first thought.

Homer "Burrhead" Nantz was parked by NASCAR during the running of the 1960 Daytona 500. Apparently Nantz wasn't all that bothered by the penalty as he'd just burned his clutch. From Daytona Beach Morning Journal
